Goldwind successfully installed its first Medium-Speed Permanent-Magnet (MSPM) turbine in Brazil

June 22, 2024 – Goldwind has successfully installed its first Medium-Speed Permanent-Magnet (MSPM) turbine outside of China as part of the Lagoa do Barro Retrofit project (LDBR) in Brazil. This achievement marks a crucial step in Goldwind’s expansion into the international market.


The installation of the first of three turbines will enable Goldwind’s Brazilian team to build capacity, gain valuable experience, and lay a solid foundation for future projects in Brazil. The company’s newly acquired Camaçari factory in Bahia state and developed supply chain will facilitate the manufacturing and delivery of MSPM turbines from the second half of 2024.

The LDBR project is an additional 18 MW project consisting of three GWH171-6MW units, developed and constructed by CGN Brazil Energy in the state of Piauí. The project is an extension of the original Lagoa do Barro project.

Goldwind’s successful installation of its first overseas MSPM turbine marks a significant step forward in the company’s mission to promote renewable energy globally.
