Why Wind Turbines are painted with red stripes?

Video

YouTube player

Have you noticed that in some countries wind turbines are painted with red
stripes? mainly closed to the outer section of the wind turbine blades. What’s the reason?

The red paint on the wind turbine blades signifies the proximity of an airport or airstrip. The number of stripes painted on the wind turbine blades is not random.

If there is only one red stripe painted on the wind turbine blade, then it means you are less than 5 Km away from the airport.

If there is no airport within the 5 Km area, then the wind turbines must have two or more red stripes painted on the blades.
