Taiwan’s Offshore Wind Farm, Zhong Neng, Reaches Milestone with First Power Delivery
30 June 2024 –The 300 MW offshore Wind farm Zhong Neng Project in Taiwan has successfully delivered its first power, marking a crucial milestone in its journey towards on-schedule completion later in 2024.
The Zhong Neng Project, a joint venture between Copenhagen Infrastructure IV (CI IV) and China Steel Corporation (CSC), has installed its third wind turbine, paving the way for the project’s timely completion. Mads Skovgaard-Andersen, partner at CIP, expressed his gratitude to all partners and congratulated the Zhong Neng team on reaching this landmark, demonstrating their successful joint project execution capabilities.
Once fully operational, the Zhong Neng wind farm, located off the coast of Taiwan, will provide clean energy to approximately 300,000 households in Taiwan, contributing significantly to the country’s renewable energy goals. This achievement, combined with the recent inauguration of Changfang-Xidao, marks a significant contribution to Taiwan’s energy transition, paving the way for a cleaner and more sustainable future.
