DEME Apollo Vessel Reaches France’s Dieppe Le Tréport Wind Farm for Pile and Jacket Installation
30 June 2024 =DEME’s offshore installation vessel, ‘Apollo’, has arrived at the Dieppe le Tréport offshore wind farm. This arrival marks the beginning of a crucial phase in the construction of the wind farm, with the crew and project team gearing up for the piling operations of the first of the 62 jacket foundations.
The Dieppe le Tréport offshore wind farm is one of the latest large-scale projects undertaken by DEME in France, following their successful implementations at the Saint-Nazaire and the Iles d’Yeu and Noirmoutier offshore wind farms. The new project reinforces DEME’s role as a leader in innovative offshore wind farm solutions.
DEME is responsible for the transportation and installation of pin piles and jackets that will form the foundations for the 62 wind turbines. The company will also handle the transport and installation of the pin piles, jackets, and topside for the offshore substation. Additionally, DEME will execute the EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation) contract for a total of 120 km of inter-array cables.
The 496 MW Dieppe Le Tréport offshore wind farm, developed by Les Éoliennes en Mer Services and owned by OW Ocean Winds (a joint venture by ENGIE and EDPR), Sumitomo Corporation, and Banque des Territoires, is projected to supply renewable energy to almost 850,000 people.
