Boskalis successfully installed the largest foundation for the Revolution Wind offshore wind farm
29 June 2024ย โBoskalis, a leading marine services provider, has successfully installed the largest foundation for the Revolution Wind offshore wind farm off the east coast of the United States. The wind turbine foundation, measuring 114 meters in length and weighing 2,105 tons, was installed by the company’s crane vessel Bokalift 2.
The Revolution Wind offshore wind farm, a joint project by รrsted and Eversource, aims to provide Connecticut and Rhode Island with green power. With a capacity of 704 MW, the wind farm is expected to make a significant contribution to the region’s transition to renewable energy.
Boskalis is utilizing a range of specialized offshore vessels to support the project, including the crane vessel Bokalift 1, several semi-submersible heavy transport vessels, and US vessels engaged in surveying, monitoring, and component transportation.
Later this year, the Bokalift 2 is scheduled to install two even larger foundations, which will serve as offshore substations for the wind farm.
