Siemens Gamesa Awarded Turbine Supply Contract for Iberdrola’s Windanker Offshore Wind Farm
29 June 2024 –Siemens Gamesa has announced its partnership with Iberdrola Renewables to supply its industry-leading SG 14-236 DD turbines for the Windanker offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea. This collaboration marks the 23rd offshore wind farm project for Siemens Gamesa in German waters and the first installation of its most powerful offshore turbine in the country.
The Windanker project is a significant step towards a cleaner and more sustainable energy future for Germany. With each rotation of the SG 14-236 DD turbine capable of powering a household for three days, this project is poised to make a substantial impact on the country’s renewable energy landscape.
The partnership between Siemens Gamesa and Iberdrola Renewables reinforces their commitment to building Germany’s Baltic Hub, a strategic initiative aimed at harnessing the region’s vast offshore wind potential.
