Vestas Secures 577 MW Order for Golden Plains Wind Project in Australia


June 21, 2024 –Vestas, a leading wind turbine manufacturer, has received a significant order from TagEnergy to supply 93 of its V162-6.2 MW wind turbines for the second stage of the Golden Plains Wind Farm in Australia. The 577 MW order is an extension of the existing 756 MW contract for the first stage, bringing the total capacity of the project to 1.3 GW.

The combined 1.3 GW capacity makes Golden Plains Wind Farm Vestas’ largest ever onshore wind farm. The project will feature Vestas’ EnVentus platform, known for its high efficiency and performance.

Vestas will deliver the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) for the second stage, with delivery of wind turbines expected to begin in Q1 2025 and commissioning in Q1 2026. Additionally, Vestas will provide a 30-year service and maintenance agreement (AOM5000) to ensure optimal energy production.
