Vestas Signs Conditional Agreement for Major Offshore Wind Project in Northern Europe

Vestas Wind Systems A/S has announced a conditional agreement to supply turbines for a substantial offshore wind power project in Northern Europe, with a total capacity exceeding 1 GW. This large-scale project will be developed in two construction phases.

The agreement, if confirmed and made unconditional, will be disclosed in line with Vestas’ disclosure policy. Although the specific turbine model has not been confirmed, it is anticipated that the V236-15.0 MW offshore wind turbine, a model Vestas has successfully marketed for other major offshore projects, might be utilized for this gigawatt-scale initiative.

Vestas has already secured orders for the V236-15.0 MW turbine in various European countries including Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, and Denmark. Installation of these 15 MW turbines is set to commence offshore in 2025.

This agreement marks a significant step in expanding Vestas’ footprint in the offshore wind energy sector, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the global transition to renewable energy.
