East Anglia Three Project Hits Milestone with Completion of First Monopile Foundation

29 June 2024 –The East Anglia Three project has announced a significant achievement with the completion of its first monopile foundation at the Navantia Seanergies – Windar Renovables facility in Fene, Spain.

The monopile foundations, measuring up to 10.6 meters in diameter and 85 meters in length, weigh up to 1,800 tonnes each. The project boasts an impressive 1,400 MW of installed capacity, which will be supported by a total of 45 monopile foundations. Once complete, the project is expected to supply 1.3 million homes with clean energy, making a significant impact on the UK’s transition to offshore wind energy.

The successful completion of the first monopile foundation is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the teams involved. This project sets a precedent for future offshore wind energy projects and paves the way for a cleaner, greener future for the UK.
